Although the first overall pick’s performance has been shaky since he put on nfl jersey, the Detroit Lions Coach Jim Schwartz still felt confident in rookie quarterback Stafford and told reporters that he would not mover from Stafford to veteran Daunte Culppepper.
"He's our quarterback," Schwartz said of Stafford. "We're pleased with him. He's going to be a very good quarterback in this league, and we're going to win with him. We liked both quarterbacks. We thought Matt was the right player to lead this team. We still do. And I think when it's all said and done, we're going to be very happy in that decision."
